Executive Team 2026-27

Carmelle Martinez (she/her)
President
Program: Master of Architecture
Hi! My name is Carmelle Martinez, and I'm a third-year Master of Architecture student at Daniels. I served as my cohort's Class Representative during my first year and had the opportunity to be GALDSU Treasurer this past year. My favourite part of being involved with GALDSU has been advocating for students, supporting student-led initiatives, and creating opportunities for our community to connect (and have a little fun along the way). I'm excited to take on the role of President this year and continue working with the rest of the team to support our graduate community. If you ever see me around the halls, don't be afraid to say hi!

Nour Abdelfattah
(she/her)
Vice President
Program: Master of Architecture
Hello! I’m Nour, a third-year Master of Architecture student with an undergraduate degree in Architectural Science. Being part of the Daniels community has deepened my appreciation for creative spaces, where I find inspiration in the people around me and discover that there is always something valuable to learn from one another. As GALDSU Vice President, I hope to be an approachable and supportive presence for students, advocate for their needs, and create more opportunities for connection and collaboration across the Daniels graduate community and with the broader design industry. Outside of school, I love travelling, discovering new places, and experiencing different cultures!

Aaron Di Giacomo (he/him)
Treasurer
Program: Master of Architecture
"Alright, let’s do this one last time.” My name is Aaron Di Giacomo. I think I was bitten by a regular, boring spider. I’ve been at Daniels for six years, and for the next little while, I’ll be the one and only GALDSU Treasurer.
You can usually find me swinging between the studio, the workshop, and the robotics lab. When I’m not trading sleep for architecture, I’m usually on the golf course or being ruled by my cats, Biscotti and Chooch. I look forward to a fun and eventful year with you all!

Treya Vyas
(she/they)
Social Chair
Program: Master of Architecture
Wow, heyyy people! My name is Treya I am an Indian-Canadian architectural designer currently pursuing a Master of Architecture. I completed my Bachelor of Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University. During my undergraduate studies, I led several department and faculty-level initiatives and participated in university-wide discussions on institutional change.
I’m passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion in design and currently work with BEAToronto, SOSA, and the Toronto Society of Architects. At UofT, I also represent the Master of Architecture program as a CASA student representative, advocating for students within the broader architecture community.

Nawal Dabbagh (she/her)
Secretary
Program: Master of Architecture
Hi! My name is Nawal, and I’m entering my second year of MArch, but this will actually be my sixth year at Daniels, so it’s definitely felt like home for quite some time! I’m so excited to be serving as GALDSU Secretary this year, and I hope to be someone students feel comfortable approaching with questions, concerns, or even just a chat. Alongside the rest of the team, I’m hoping to keep communication between GALDSU and the student body as open and transparent as possible. If I’m not in studio, I’m probably in a meeting or volunteering for whatever has called my name that week hehe. I’m once again making it my goal (for the sixth year in a row) to explore somewhere new on campus. So if you have a favourite hidden spot, please send it my way!

Mohamad Sinjab
(he/him)
Health + Sustainability Officer
Program: Master of Architecture
Hello hello! I'm Mohamad Sinjab, a second-year Master of Architecture student at Daniels. I’ve also been part of the Daniels community since my undergraduate studies. I previously served as the M.Arch1 Class Rep and am excited to continue with GALDSU this year as the Health and Sustainability Officer. I’m hoping to make life on the Daniels island a little more lively by getting more people involved in upcoming activities, intramurals, and anything else that gives us an excuse to leave our studio desks every once in a while. If I’m not in studio, I’m most likely at home with my cat, Mishmish, or, over winter break, back home surrounded by my 10 budgies. I’m also somehow best friends with the Green Truck shawarma guy, which is probably one of my more important connections at UofT. Looking forward to a lively and cheerful year with everyone at Daniels!

Claudia Luz Doare (she/her/elle)
Equity + Diversity Officer
Program: Master of Landscape Architecture
Hi, Hola, Bonjour! My name is Claudia, a third-year Master of Landscape Architecture student at Daniels, and besides that, I am also an artist and a novice plant mom.
During the school year, you can usually find me at my studio desk, the library or the cafe when I need a little boost of dopamine.
For the role of Equity & Diversity Office, I am happy to be an open ear for you and our student community as a whole, to share ideas or even vent [oopsies] because it is crucial that everyone feels heard and understood.
Fun fact: I speak French, Spanish and English, so feel free to come say hi and practice any of those languages with me if you like and see me around :)
